A Long Way From Nowhere

Self published in 2014, A Long Way From Nowhere, by Matt and Julie Urbanski is the most current book documenting a 2013 thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail. It is definitely not the most compelling read and at times I found myself plowing through the book only because I value their first hand knowledge of the trail. You can read the reviews on Amazon yourself and decide if it is worth your time. If you are local, feel free to contact me and borrow my copy. It will definitely give you an idea of the physical and emotional experience of thru-hiking in general, as well as, specific challenges on the CDT. They confirm what other CDT thru-hikers have told me; water, weather, and navigation are daily challenges. Snow comes in waves and wildlife is always the wildcard. Sounds like an adventure to me!
